The MetroCIO group participates in irregular group projects focused on particular technology topics. These projects bring in IT experts from other jurisdictions and organization to help provide additional depth of coverage. Current and past activities are:

• Assessment of possible regional cold site for Northern Virginia jurisdictions.
• Examination of feasibility of interjurisdictional information technology mutual aid agreements for disaster recovery.
• Fairfax County hot site disaster recovery services contract. Interested jurisdictions have been invited to work with the County in securing a possible contract for hot site disaster recovery services.
